AP - Japan launched a satellite-based alert system Friday that will instantly send warnings of tsunamis and updates on volcanic activity to help speed evacuations, an emergency official said.

Really great news, Im not sure if this satellite will monitoring all world areas.
Hope this satellite helps to save lifes in case of natural desasters
