Question Link-back/Ping-back question

I got a note in my email that one of my posts got ping-backed to Newsweek.

It kinda sounds like a good idea and I'd like to use it myself but am not sure how it works even though I read some material on it on another board.

I usually include a link at the bottom of posts which serves the same purpose but this may be a better, quicker or easier way of doing it.

Part of the problem may be that I've been doing things this way since the days of DOS BBS message boards and haven't used some of the newer features on today's message boards.

Any help on how-to-do-it would be much appreciated so I can decide if the new way is better or if my present style is sufficient.

Thanks
