Personally I don't mind the news feeds. It gives one the opportunity to comment and/or provide additional information. Occasionally I use a news feed to provide additional info on a topic on another board.

It also helps to prevent flame wars over who is posting so-called 'too many' new threads. The news feed thread acts as a neutral post with others allowed to post or not post as they so choose.

Unhappy News Feeds Somewhat Are Helpful

News feeds from AP, Reuters, etc. are useful
in that they highlight usually vital happenings
and occurrences the general public should know
about.

The feeds are helpful in providing topics for further
analysis, printed evaluation, and mutual discussion.

The danger from them, especially Associated Press,
is that they frequently do not promote a GENUINE
Christian nor Biblically-oriented framework in their
news-reports wording. For example, they strongly
and consistently promote the anti-Scriptural
myth and heresy of multi-million-year evolution
clearly contrary to the first few chapters of
Genesis in The HOLY BIBLE.

I like the news feeds as they tend to stimulate more intelletual conversations. I don't really get involved in the topics that are just "bantering". Please keep the feeds.
Thanks.

We can keep some of the news feeds, they do help when surfing for one story that you can't find or missed.

Default Legitimate Information

I prefer the news feeds as they have "facts" in them that one can discuss and not just stories that may or may not be true. You have to be careful of your sources of information. I really am not interested in commenting or debating a topic if the source is questionable.

Default Beliefs

I don't agree that there is "danger" in the news feeds due to them not promoting the Bible or Christian beliefs. I am a Catholic, however, I do not need to reference the Bible or quote scripture to discuss a topic. I also don't think that it is appropriate for news feeds to include religion when providing information on current events. We all have different religious beliefs that shape how we view the world and we all need to recognize and appreciate those different beliefs. If the news feeds have a Biblical focus you are eliminating a number of religions, as not everyone uses the Bible within their given religion. If you are referencing the King James version of the Bible you automatically are already excluding the Jewish faith and the Muslim faith, among others. I would prefer to have a discussion with a multicultural group than with one that believes only as I do in regards to religion.

Question

Would it be possible to shorten the keyword search to 3 letters instead of four?

A lot of acronyms are 3 letters such as FBI, FCC, CIA, etc.

Would help to narrow searches.

Thanks.

Well, if you're not interested in questionable sources, that pretty much rules out the mainstream media, and sends you to more questionable resources. Some of the radical and racist sites have some really interesting "facts" and some of their "facts" are even true.
