Big Al tellin' it like it is at Bali...

Al Gore stuns audience with climate change speech
Thursday 13th December, 2007 - Former U.S Vice President Al Gore has called upon the UN climate conference in Bali to reach an agreement without, if necessary, his country's support.
Quote:
In a speech likely to go down in history as an oratorical milestone in the fight against global warming, Mr Gore electrified the UN conference. He exhorted the nearly 11,000 delegates from 187 countries to bypass members of the U.S government delegation who are threatening to derail the negotiations to fight global warming. He said the U.S in particular was the principle reason why negotiations at the conference were proceeding so slowly.

In saying that climate change was already here and was already affecting the current generation, Gore pointed out the population had grown from 2 billion to 6.5 billion in a little over a hundred years and would soon become nine billion, all relying on 'technology so powerful that it overwhelms the earth'. In repeated and strong criticism of the Bush administration, he said the global coalition of scientists that have now proved beyond doubt the seriousness of the climate change challenge.

Drawing repeated applause from his audience, Gore assured the delegates that the U.S would move forward once the next government was in power. Mr Gore said a stronger target for reduction in emission of greenhouse gases should be set and wanted the new treaty to come into force from 2010, not 2012 as the delegates have been planning.

Warning delegates about the price of failure at the conference, Gore said: 'Our children will ask us - what were you thinking? Didn't you hear the warnings? Didn't you see the glaciers and the north polar ice cap melt? Didn't you see the many more droughts and storms and floods? Didn't you see the sea level rise? Didn't you care?

Big Al gonna free us from OPEC oil...

Former Vice President Gore Issues US 10 Year Electricity Challenge
17 July 2008 - Former Vice President Al Gore is challenging the United States to produce all of its electricity through wind power, solar power and other environmentally friendly sources within 10 years. Gore said the transition would not only help resolve America's current energy and economic problems, but would also improve U.S. national security by reducing dependence on foreign oil.
Quote:
Al Gore received a rock star welcome at an energy conference in Washington, where he issued a challenge to the country. "So today I challenge our nation to commit to producing 100 percent of our electricity from renewable energy and truly clean, carbon-free sources within 10 years," he said. Called an alarmist by some critics, Gore has made global climate change his signature issue, and his efforts won him a Nobel Prize. He admitted that weaning Americans off fossil fuels would require placing a carbon tax on burning oil and coal, which his plan would offset with a reduction in payroll taxes. But Gore said soaring gasoline prices and the current economic turmoil have created a new political environment where Americans are hungry for change.

"I do not remember a time in our country when so many things seem to be going so wrong simultaneously," he said. "Our economy is in terrible shape and getting worse, people are hurting. Gasoline prices are increasing dramatically and so are electricity rates. Jobs are being outsourced, home mortgages are in trouble. Banks, automobile companies, other institutions we depend upon are under growing pressure." Gore called on all Americans to pull together, citing the kind of national effort that made it possible for Neil Armstrong to walk on the moon just eight years after former President John F. Kennedy issued that challenge. He said both presidential candidates, his fellow Democrat Barack Obama and the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain are way ahead of most politicians in the fight against global climate change.

But Gore did criticize President Bush's proposal to resume offshore oil drilling as a way to address the current energy crisis. "It is only a truly dysfunctional system that would buy into the perverse logic that the short-term answer to high gasoline prices is drilling for oil 10 years from now in areas that should be protected," he said. The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama issued a statement after the speech, saying he strongly agrees with Gore that the U.S. cannot drill its way to energy independence, but must boost investments in renewable sources of energy. Obama said it is a strategy that will create millions of new jobs and leave American children with a cleaner and safer world.

Red face Look to McCain for Establishing Alternative Energy

Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" climate-change and global-warming
warning must be taken seriously, but Obama has neither the
political and personal resources nor general national support to
cause alternative energy to become mass-produced reality
and realistic replacement for carbon-based fuels.

Default A really inconvenient truth

The really inconvenient truth for Mr. Al Gore is his history of lies and hypocrisy. His lies and distortions are legendary, and his sheer hypocrisy is off the charts.

Last Tuesday, the Times reported that several eminent scientists “argue that some of Mr. Gore’s central points [on global warming] are exaggerated and erroneous.” The Tenessean reported yesterday that Mr. Gore received $570,000 in royalties from the owners of zinc mines who held mineral leases on his farm. The mines, which closed in 2003 but are scheduled to reopen under a new operator later this year, “emitted thousands of pounds of toxic substances and several times, the water discharged from the mines into nearby rivers had levels of toxins above what was legal.”

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

Hypocrisy:
The London Fog: Al Gore's carbon footprint a lot heavier than most

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

Copious Dissent - Your Daily Dose of Liberty: Judge in Britain Outlines 11 of Al Gore’s Lies That Must Be Disclosed to Students in Propaganda Film: An Inconvenient Truth
We wrote an editorial recently regarding a Judge’s decision to require British students to receive a warning before they are shown Al Gore’s indoctrination movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Thankfully, the Judge’s ruling is much more extensive. He is requiring 11 of Al Gore’s lies to be exposed to the children before they see the movie. This is a great start folks.

"In order for the film to be shown, the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that 1.) The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument. 2.) If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination. 3.) Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children."

1. The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government's expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.

2. The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.

3. The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that it was "not possible" to attribute one-off events to global warming.

4. The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that this was not the case.

5. The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned and this was because of a particularly violent storm.

6. The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream throwing Europe into an ice age: the Claimant's evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.

7. The film blames global warming for species losses including coral reef bleaching. The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.

8. The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.

9. The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting, the evidence was that it is in fact increasing.

10. The film suggests that sea levels could rise by 7m causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40cm over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.

11. The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The Government are unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

Now we can wait for Al Gore the charlatan to accept his Nobel Peace Prize. The Prize is a direct result of this nonsensical movie. The entire World has gone insane.
