Default Treatment of Megrahi

Releasing the Libyan bomber that was responsible for the Lockerbie atrocity was wrong. I believe that the Scottish Government was leaned on by the English to do this. Gordon Brown's silence and Peter Mandelson's thin assurances make this impression clear. If there was a deal to be made, Libya should be made to extradite the person who shot Police Constable Yvonne Fletcher outside the Libyan Embassy in London.

In order to show compassion, Megrahi should have been moved to a secure hospital in Scotland nd his family facilitated with the necessary visas to come and visit him in his last days. That would be compassion enough for such a creature.

US indignation on the release of this terrorist however is somewhat misplaced and demonstrates double standards. US intervention in Northern Ireland affairs unfortunately led to the wretched Good Friday Agreement whereupon hundreds of convicted terrorists were released back onto the streets....deeply offensive and hurtful to the relatives of all the decent people who were butchered by Ireland's thugs.

I just want to clear something up here. Gordon Brown is a sneaky, creepy coward who does not represent the wishes of the English. He just hasn`t got a clue. I am horrified at the Scottish government`s decision to release that convicted Terrorist, everyone here is....he should have rotted in prison, sod compassion, where was the bomber`s compassion for the passengers on that plane?
This decision was largely a Scottish one but being Scottish himself, Gordon Brown couldn`t be seen to be disagreeing with the wishes of his homeland. I hope to God, the people of the USA don`t think this git represents the wishes of the good honest people of our country, he is being exposed on a weekly basis now for being a sneak and a coward, the sooner he goes the better. He WILL lose the next election, the only shame is we have to wait until next year for that.
There was an American Journalist on the radio the other day slamming the UK and the people of our country saying we are all devious, it made me feel sick to the stomach to think that is the general view.
I have always been so proud of the friendship between the USA and the UK and I hope Gordon `no comment` Brown hasn`t scuppered it.
