I have a Gateway MX6920. Specs:

Intel Core Duo T2050
1GB RAM
100GB SATA Hard Drive
Sigmatel Audio
802.11b/g WiFi Integrated
Currently running: Windows Vista Ultimate RTM and Mac OS X 10.8

It runs perfectly, aside for when Vista eats up RAM. When too many applications eat RAM in Vista, the computer randomly shuts itself off (this is a problem with Vista.).

I have an Acer laptop, dunnow the exact specs or model number of it, cause I'm at work right now
But thats the 2nd Acer laptop I get and I must say, Acer really knows how to make great laptops for cheap prices
If I decide to get a 3rd one it will definitely be an Acer !

I fully agree, though this is only my first Acer (but also my first laptop). The disadvantage of Acer is, if you have trouble with it, the support is little slow. Happily enough though, I haven't got any issues (yet?) .

The case of the laptops of Acer also a bit more fragile than with other laptops, to make sure it is possible to make it cheaper. But that's just a little disadvantage

When it comes to laptops, I vote for good build quality over brand. I've a Lenovo Y410 that I absolutely love. Personally, I would never go with a Dell as I think they have the crappiest quality. Specs:
2GB Ram
160GB HDD
1.4 GHz Intel C2Duo
Webcam
14" screen
All this for $630.

I currently don't have a laptop anymore because my old one broke down. But I am planning to buy a laptop powered by an AMD processor.
