I am using AMD Turion64 processor. I think AMD gets hot very fast. But still better than Intel for me.

What do you think? Does your computer get hot quickly too?

laptop? I made my own fans because the ones I found in stores seemed cheaply constructed, and also there were none for my 17" widescreen. Think of it as a DIY project, good luck.

Mine used to. But I removed my stock fans and replaced them with thermaltake fans and my pc temperature dropped considerably.

I think that AMD Athlon with double processor 64x2 is the best way for the newest games fans.

I using Intel Celeron 1.3 Ghz 256 SDRAM PC-very slow for me..
I'll by new PC soon(AMD )

AMD is more cheaper and was allways. I had Intel Pentium I, but next my computer was with AMD processor. And i had new computer with AMD, but it's burned and now cost much to fix... Now i'am using laptop - Intel Celeron M 370. It's good i can play and only in ~5 hours bottom of computer will be hot.

Processors get pretty hot, but that is why you need a good fan to make sure they stay cool. If there isn't proper ventilation (of which laptops are infamous for) it's going to get hot. It also depends on the temperature of the room that it's being used in. In the summer, if I have the air off, it can be 10 degrees hotter than if I do have it on.

You have to make sure that the processor and the case is well ventilated with fans. Also keep in mind that the hard drives are also creating lots of heat and often run even hotter than the CPU or motherboard does. I always try to keep the drives as far away as I can from the CPU which I think helps.

I've always seen AMD generating lesser heat over its Intel equivalents. My desktop back home was an Intel 2.8GHz proc. It used to get so hot that fans would go off like a helicopter. Coupled with that the metal whining sound due to the flow of 5 fans in the system. It did help me drown other sounds during sleep though. .. I use a AMD 64 bit proc. currently, and it has had no problems whatsover. It runs a lot cooler, and thus is silent.

My computer gets hot after about an hour.
So I got an additional fan fixed. But still it becomes hot.
So whenever I am not using the computer I switch it off.

Smile If ALL Else Fails, Use Ice Block Equivalent

Your freezer will quickly cool a pak of liquid-jelly ice
you can buy at your local grocery store.
Set that under your laptop if you are desperate,
but be prepared to replace it within an hour of laptop use.
