AP - An Israeli aircraft fired a missile at a car traveling in Gaza City, wounding six people, including two Hamas militants in the vehicle, officials said.

The land-fired missile struck as the vehicle was leaving a Hamas stronghold. One of the militants killed was Hamas commander Mohammed abu Arab. The Israel army said the attack targeted militants involved in the firing of Qassam rockets earlier in the day.
The army said Palestinians launched two Qassam rockets and two mortar shells from the Gaza Strip into Israel. One struck near the city of Sderot. No injuries or damage were reported, an Israel army spokesman said.
According to a Haaretz newspaper report Hamas denied the dead gunmen had fired rockets. It has not claimed any rocket attacks on Israel since its violent takeover of the Gaza Strip from the rival Fatah group in June, although it has fired mortar shells, Haaretz reported.
