Default Baseball Among 7 Sports Being Considered For 2016 Olympics

"Baseball, Softball, Golf, rugby, squash, karate and roller sports will also be considered for the two openings on the 2016 schedule. All five had failed to win admission into the London Olympics in 2005." Roller sports? Like Rollerball? Now, THERE's a reason to watch the Olympics!

Cool Rocky Marciano vs. Cassius Clay?

Dad thinks it would end up a draw.

I think that Ali would simply have danced around
enough out of Marciano's way (i.e. Cassius
would merely "float like a butterfly") to avoid
being hit by the Rock as much as possible.

Whenever Ali would have been hit by crouching Marciano,
he could have taken whatever flurry of punches Marciano
would have pommeled him with. And then Cassius Clay
would have "stung like a bee."

"In this corner, weighing under 200 pounds, in black
trunks, from the great State of Illinois:
Barak Hussein..............O-BOMB-uh!"

"His opponent in the far corner, also weighing under
200 pounds, from the great State of Arizona,
in red, white, and blue trunks:
John................Mc CAIN!"

"OK fellas, I want this to be a fair fight. NO hitting
below the belt. No rabbit punches. Break apart
and don't hang on to each other affectionately.
Understand that the advantage of men only watching
this political boxing match in contrast to the summertime
misdressed inferior-gender weaker sex butting in.......is
that you will never hear the comment: "Why are they
hurting each other so?"

Lack Of Attendance At Olympic Games Has Many Wondering Where Sold-Out Tickets Have Gone
August 17, 2008 - Empty seats and a low turn out for some of the Olympic games have many wondering where all the sold-out event tickets have gone, and some in China are saying that the Chinese Government secretly restricted sales to the public.
Quote:
According to an article in the Times of London, Chinese bloggers are writing on the Internet about the disappointment many have been feeling upon not being able to acquire tickets after long waits, only to see the stands largely empty in some events. They say that the Chinese government bought large quantities of tickets and gave them to government departments, Communist party officials or state-owned companies, who are under orders not to hand them out to the public. That way, the government can avoid large groups of people who could become unruly or outspoken.

In a report by the Los Angeles Times, it is theorized that indeed, tickets were given to professional groups, such as media, VIPs and Sponsors, who often do not use the tickets they are given. However, the paper says that that still does not account for as many empty seats as there have been in some events, such as football (soccer), which usually draws a big crowd.

According to the reports, sponsors, the Olympic Committee, and the Chinese Government are all expressing bewilderment at the lack of people filling the stands, especially because as far as the public knows, the events have sold out. To make up for the obvious lack of attendance, it is even reported that Chinese authorities are putting bus loads of "volunteers," in the stands to give the appearance of a more enthusiastic crowd. China is expected to have spent over $30 billion on preparations and hosting the 16 day and 17 night Olympic events.
